Castar Gondor Coin – White City Currency

Gondor coin inspired by Middle-earth, featuring Minas Tirith and the White Tree — a fantasy metal currency for LARP, RPG and collectors.
Unlike Mordor coins or Sauron-inspired currency, this coin represents the strength of Men, the defense of Minas Tirith, and the enduring legacy of Gondor.

A metal gaming coin inspired by the legacy of Gondor — the realm of Men that stood against the shadow.

Diameter: 26 mm
Material: zinc alloy

The obverse depicts Minas Tirith, the White City, rising in tiers upon the slopes of Mount Mindolluin — a symbol of endurance, structure, and defiance.

The reverse bears the White Tree of Gondor, an ancient emblem of Númenórean kingship, lineage, and hope that endures even in the darkest times.

Encircling the design are inscriptions referencing Gondor and a well-known line of resolve:

“There may come a day when the courage of men fails… but it is not this day!”
rendered in a Sindarin-inspired script.

A coin of men who stand, even when all seems lost.

Inspired by the world of Middle-earth, this coin represents a very different kind of currency than that of darker realms.

Where Mordor coins speak of control and fear, the Castar coin reflects order, duty, and the fragile persistence of hope.

Perfect for

  • LARP (human kingdoms, soldiers, commanders, city guards)
  • RPG campaigns (defense of cities, last stands, alliances of men)
  • board games and immersive play

Before the Gates of Minas Tirith

The walls of Minas Tirith stood pale in the fading light.

Or at least, they tried to.

Wooden palisades creaked in the wind, ropes stretched, boards slightly uneven — and somewhere behind it all, faint and out of place, a distant train horn cut through the evening air.

“Did you hear that?” muttered Tomas, adjusting his helmet.

“That?” said Marek. “That’s… probably not in the lore.”

A pause.

“Unless Gondor has railways now.”

A few of them laughed. Quietly.

Not enough to break the tension.

Beyond the walls, the field was already filling.

Dark shapes. Movement. Noise building slowly, like a storm deciding whether to break.

Orcs.

Dozens.

Then more.

“Okay,” said Marek, shifting his shield. “Jokes done. We’re Gondor now.”

They stood along the wooden rampart, shoulder to shoulder.

Some in armor that almost matched.
Some in pieces borrowed, improvised, repaired three times over.

But from a distance—

it worked.

“Minas Tirith,” Tomas said under his breath, as if trying the words on.

“White City,” someone added.

“Last wall,” said another.

A man down the line pulled out a coin and turned it between his fingers.

The White Tree caught the last of the light.

“You think this is what they used?” he asked.

“In Gondor?” Marek said.

“Yeah. Like… real Gondor. Middle-earth Gondor.”

Marek looked at the coin.

Then out across the field.

“Does it matter?” he said.

The horn sounded.

Closer now.

Not distant.

Not symbolic.

Real enough.

“Positions!” someone shouted.

Helmets came down.

Shields lifted.

The line tightened.

Below, the orcs began to form.

Not chaotic now.

Ordered.

Too many.

“Here’s the thing,” Tomas said, voice low. “We’re going to lose this wall.”

“Yeah,” Marek said.

“Probably fast.”

A beat.

“But not immediately.”

Marek smiled.

“No,” he said. “Not today.”

The train passed somewhere in the distance, unseen, its rhythm briefly merging with the drums below.

Metal. Wood. Breath.

Heartbeat.

The coin was slipped back into a pouch.

“After this,” Tomas said, “beer.”

“Obviously,” Marek replied.

The horn sounded again.

“GONDOR!” someone roared.

And suddenly—

they were no longer standing behind a wooden fence in a field near Čísovice.

They were the last wall.

The last line.

The last stand.

And as the first wave began to move—

the White Tree waited.
